24 Hours of G & T – Announcement 2: Our Fundraising Goal

24 Hours of G & T – Announcement 2: Our Fundraising Goal

The G & T Show Fundraising Goal

The G & T Show – it’s all about story, characters, and Star Trek

Our Fundraising Goal!

24 Hours of G & T is our annual fundraiser and it is quickly approaching. This year, it will be held on Saturday October 29th beginning at 9 AM Pacific / Noon Eastern / 5 PM UK and runs straight through until 9 AM Pacific / Noon Eastern / 5 PM UK on Sunday October 30th. This 24 hour event will be packed with Guests, Games, Prizes, Contests, and most importantly: FUN!

Current Guest List

Our current guest list is subject to change. However, it currently includes authors and writers, actors and actresses, directors, musicians and singers, linguists, game developers, podcasters, fan film and audio drama producers, artists, and so much more.

Some of the confirmed and scheduled guests include: Al Rivera of Star Trek Online; Evie Vincent and Avery Conant of Tales From Ten Forward; Club 602 podcast; Jen Usellis the Klingon Pop Warrior; Wyatt Lenhart of Star Trek: Continues; actor Rico Anderson; the Women at Warp podcast, Star Trek and media tie-in writers Dayton Ward, Kevin Dilmore, and John Jackson Miller; the Mission Log Podcast; Comic book artist J.K. Woodward; Adrianne Grady of Invocation Array; and the Priority One Podcast. That is not all, though. We have many others that have expressed interest. However they are not scheduled yet. And so we are excited to tell you about them in a later announcement when we release our full schedule.

Games and Contests

We are also planning games and contests. And we have already begun planning them and have gotten a lot of interest from our guests. Everyone is looking forward to playing them. We have a survey floating around for one of these games and need your help. Please take a few minutes to answer the survey’s questions so that we can get an accurate sample for our Podcaster’s Feud (think Family Feud pitting podcast teams against each other). Other planned games include The Match Game, Star Trek Password, 100,000 Latinum Pyramid, and The Newly Trek Game. Our guests are looking forward to playing with us. It should make for an entertaining show.

Details about our Prizes and Contests will be made in another announcement, so please keep an eye out for that in the near future.

The Current Announcement

Today, we announce our fundraising goal. We need your help, in order to operate for the next year. This is to pay for all of the servers and services we use to deliver a weekly live show and the many other shows under the Busy Little Beaver umbrella. The amount we seek in this fundraiser will be used to keep our servers running so we can continue delivering fun content. This year’s magic number includes more than just our server costs. It also includes licensing fees, subscriptions, themes, plugins, and other website upgrades. In all honesty, it includes more than just our needs, but also our wish list for the coming year. And we break down our costs below so you can see exactly where your money is going, when you donate it to the G & T Show and Busy Little Beaver Productions.

So this year’s 24 Hours of G & T’s fundraising goal is $3000. In the spirit of transparency, we provide an itemized list of how we got that figure, so you can see exactly where your donations to the G & T Show go. Every penny pays for our technology costs. Not a single cent will be used to market the show or to attend conventions. Without further ado, let us break down how we came up with this year’s fundraising goal.

We hope to put on an entertaining show to encourage our friends, fans, and listeners to donate to our fundraiser and keep our show going for another year. Even if you can’t donate, please join us for the live 24 hour show and tell your friends. A good time should be had by all.

Mike Medeiros is a great storyteller in his own mind. He’s been known to put words to page and sometimes, he even turns them into audio stories for himself, his friends and the occasional stranger that stumbles upon his stuff by accident. He has written, writes, and will write for Gates of Sto’vo’kor, Blood of the Neirrh, Star Trek: Starfinder, The Klingons of Long Island, Reality’s Edge, and Zygerus. Some of his stories and other writings have materialized on websites and forums for the G & T Show, Priority One, ScienceFiction.com, Star Trek Online, and even Star Trek.com. He’s written a few playable missions for Star Trek Online and has even had a couple of them spotlighted. He keeps saying he’s working on a novel, but is he really? A comic book is more likely. If only he could make money flinging ink at the screen, he’d be a happy camper.

But, wait. There’s more.

He is the co-owner of Busy Little Beaver Productions and is the producer and co-host for G & T Show and Gates of Sto’vo’kor. He’s directed voice actors, and produced and edited audio podcasts and dramas because he doesn’t have the face for video. He plays well with others and is always on the look out for the next project, the next thing, the next next. If he wasn’t working on something with a half dozen other projects waiting in the wings, somebody please check to make sure he’s still breathing.

During the day, he’s a mild-mannered computer repair man who dabbles in web design in his small, rural, Central California community. He lives with his lovingly dysfunctional family and loyal canine companion and spends most of his time in the closet concocting some hair-brained scheme or another. He’s got an unhealthy obsession with Lego video games, Klingons, and Star Trek Online that borders on the neurotic.

Despite all this, he still finds the time to write the words. Find out what he's doing here.
