24 Hours of G & T – Announcement 3 – Event Schedule

24 Hours of G & T 2016 Event Schedule

Our Event Schedule is now live!

24 Hours of G & T, our annual fundraising event, is quickly approaching and will be upon us in a little more than a week. This year, the event will be held on October 29th beginning at 9 AM Pacific / Noon Eastern / 5 PM U.K. And it will run for 24 hours straight. Then it will conclude on October 30th at 9 AM Pacific / Noon Eastern / 5 PM U.K. As we have mentioned before, we’ve packed the event with Guests, Games, Prizes, Contests, and most importantly, FUN! Previously, we have discussed the event and our fundraising goal with an outline of how the money raised will be spent. This time, we reveal our Event Schedule and some of our planned hidden surprises. Be sure to check it out and start making plans to join us for this 24 hour extravaganza!

The guest list and schedule are subject to change, but we wanted to reveal a little bit of what we have planned. There are many more surprises in store than what the schedule suggests. So, be sure to tune in and check it out. You never know what you may find during 24 Hours of G & T.

Let’s begin with the guest list.

Our Guest List

One of the highlights from last year’s fundraiser was the surprise guests who dropped in on us unannounced. This year we have built into the schedule many opportunities for this to happen again! We have asked and have confirmed several deliberately unscheduled guests. We gave them open invitations to join us during our Drop-In Hours. Not only will this surprise you, our listeners, but it will surprise us as well. Plus, it has the added benefit of pairing up unlikely guests. So we’ll see what kind of magic can happen when they meet for the first time. At the very least, this should help keep us awake.

With that said, let’s take a look at the guests that we have scheduled!

Old Friends

We have Star Trek Online‘s Al “Captain Geko” Rivera joining us to talk about the game and a variety of other interesting topics. James Kerwin and Kipleigh Brown will be popping in as well to discuss Kipleigh’s upcoming expanded role in Star Trek Online as well as any other tidbits of information we can squeeze out of them. We’ll ask about Star Trek: Continues and any other projects they may be working on. Friends of the show and hetero-life partners, Dayton Ward and Kevin Dilmore will also make an appearance and we will put their relationship to the test with our version of the Newlywed Game that we are calling The Newly Trek Game.

Games

We have also planned our version of the Match Game. For this event, we have a slew of celebrities competing. Joining us for this bit of controlled chaos are: Evie and Avery from Tales From Ten Forward, Marv from Club 602, The Klingon Pop Warrior Jen Usellis, Wyatt “Chekov, Pavel Andreievich” Lenhart from Star Trek: Continues, and actor Rico Anderson.

Spinoff Shenanigans

We recently spun off Semantic Shenanigans as its own show and the lovely Janet Gershen-Siegel and Shanna Gilkeson will be joining us and Women At Warp for a lively discussion of the Bechdel test among other interesting topics. This is right before Janet dons the robes of justice to preside over the mock trial. The trial pits Five Year Mission against Trek Geeks over the unauthorized performance of one of the former’s songs on the latter’s podcast. We will be making fandom history, people!

The Printed Word and Visual Art

Media Tie-In Author John Jackson Miller has written a variety of Star Wars and Star Trek novels. He will be joining us once again to talk about his current Star Trek trilogy: Star Trek: Prey. Plus we’ll discuss several other important topics, such as television and more. Also, IDW Comic Book artist J.K. Woodward will be joining in on the fun a little later in the show. And he may bring a few surprises of his own. We can’t wait!

More Games

The guys from Mission Log Podcast will be facing off against the G & T Show in another game. This time, we’ll be playing 100,000 Latinum Pyramid. We expect good conversation from them as well. We’re looking forward to it and so should you. And, later in the show, the G & T Show will be battling fatigue. That’s when a refreshed Priority One Podcast joins us for a few rounds of Podcasters’ Family Feud! This should prove to be a hilarious bit of fun in the early hours of the morning.

And all of that is on the schedule below.

Surprise Guests (shhh)

What is not on the schedule? We would like to take a moment to mention a few other guests. These are not all of them. We are keeping a few guests under our proverbial hats because of reasons. Surprise guests who may be dropping by the show include: podcasters and audio dramas Club 602, The O Sports Show, Live Love PlayStarfinder, Blood of The Nei’rrh, Gates of Sto’vo’kor, and Larry Nemecek to name a few. Some will be bearing gifts or new teasers for upcoming projects and more. You definitely don’t want to miss out on all of the fun and chaos these people will bring with them.

Then, after all of that, we will proceed with an extended edition of our regular show. As always, we will discuss all of the latest news in and around the Star Trek multiverse. So, mark your calendars and join us on October 29th and 30th for 24 Hours of G & T to help us raise money to keep our dorky little show going for another year.

Wait! There’s more.

We are pleased to announce that this year, 24 Hours of G & T will not only be available through our website. We will also broadcast the entire show on multiple platforms simultaneously. That’s right. You heard it correctly. Not only will you be able to listen in on the fun through the G & T Show website. You also can also listen in on YouTube, Facebook Live, and Live Love Play’s Twitch page. Due to limitations of those streaming services, the show’s stream will be restarted hourly. The entire show will also be posted to our website and YouTube after the broadcast.

So, pick your streaming service of choice, sit back and enjoy the show. And, if you can, please consider donating to help keep our servers running for another year. Thank you!

Our next announcement should be up next week. In it, you can expect us to announce SOME of the prizes we will be giving away to listeners and donors. So, stay tuned!

Mike Medeiros is a great storyteller in his own mind. He’s been known to put words to page and sometimes, he even turns them into audio stories for himself, his friends and the occasional stranger that stumbles upon his stuff by accident. He has written, writes, and will write for Gates of Sto’vo’kor, Blood of the Neirrh, Star Trek: Starfinder, The Klingons of Long Island, Reality’s Edge, and Zygerus. Some of his stories and other writings have materialized on websites and forums for the G & T Show, Priority One, ScienceFiction.com, Star Trek Online, and even Star Trek.com. He’s written a few playable missions for Star Trek Online and has even had a couple of them spotlighted. He keeps saying he’s working on a novel, but is he really? A comic book is more likely. If only he could make money flinging ink at the screen, he’d be a happy camper.

But, wait. There’s more.

He is the co-owner of Busy Little Beaver Productions and is the producer and co-host for G & T Show and Gates of Sto’vo’kor. He’s directed voice actors, and produced and edited audio podcasts and dramas because he doesn’t have the face for video. He plays well with others and is always on the look out for the next project, the next thing, the next next. If he wasn’t working on something with a half dozen other projects waiting in the wings, somebody please check to make sure he’s still breathing.

During the day, he’s a mild-mannered computer repair man who dabbles in web design in his small, rural, Central California community. He lives with his lovingly dysfunctional family and loyal canine companion and spends most of his time in the closet concocting some hair-brained scheme or another. He’s got an unhealthy obsession with Lego video games, Klingons, and Star Trek Online that borders on the neurotic.

Despite all this, he still finds the time to write the words. Find out what he's doing here.
