Published on May 12, 2013 by in Ask Dayton, Blog

Dear Dayton, The “who would win in a fight” question has been asked many times before. Star Trek versus Star Wars. Hal versus Commander Adama. Lock boxes versus our wallets. Published on July 22, 2012 by in Ask Dayton, Blog

Dear Dayton: On last week’s show, G&T discussed the topic of the Assimilation2 comics and crossovers, and suggesting numerous ideas for crossovers they would like to see. Are there any crossover stories you’re particularly fond of, or would like to see some take a crack at? When it comes to storytelling, what kind of stories do you prefer writing? Do you prefer the grand scale set pieces, shaking up the universal status quo? The smaller, more personal stories relating to the trial of a singular character? Or, some combination of the above? Lastly, what do loyal fans of the great

Ask Dayton #25 – Do the Ooby Dooby and Other First Contact Day Celebrations

Published on April 22, 2012 by in Ask Dayton, Blog

Dear Dayton, Recently, Trekdom celebrated one of their biggest holidays of the year, First Contact Day. As an author that plays in the Star Trek universe fairly often, what did you do for First Contact Day? Was there a parade? A reenactment of that unforgettable moment when the human race comes face to face with a being from another world (starring your children perhaps), followed by anti-matter Fireworks at sunset? Please, do tell. Also, to help get the creative juices going. We saw how Janeway celebrated First Contact Day. How do you think the other Captains we’ve seen in Star

Ask Dayton #20 – Fishnets for the Win!

Published on March 20, 2012 by in Ask Dayton, Blog

Dear Dayton: If you were given the chance to script doctor Star Trek V, can you tell us what changes you would make? Also, if you could for Star Trek: Nemesis, what would you do to improve it? I feel that Star Trek V had some good ideas and moments, but it fell so short, as did Nemesis. Also, choosing from characters across all the series, can you give us your idea of the ideal bridge crew (and if you wanted to put someone like Kurn as the XO or Ops office, cool!)? Thanks Dayton!
