Welcome to the G & T Show 258 – 24 Hours of G & T: Hours 22 – 24

So man oh man, we were tired! And thanks to Mike for gathering a ton of links to discuss so we would have something to talk about.

First of all, we delivered BLB Productions news. The O Sports Show has a new episode, #20 – No One Wants To Go To Cleveland.

Then we settled into our standard segments.

Gaming News

Star Trek Online has a ton of great news. It all started with the Sphere Lock Box, which also offered stats. Furthermore, http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/10224493-15%25-key-saleAgents of Yesterday: Artifacts is now live.

And STO offers a 15% key sale. More special perks include Echoes of Light (Week 1 Rewards), Star Trek Online: Dilithium Weekend Event, and the K-13 Fleet Holding Special Unlocks.

And then we moved onto to unofficial productions.

Unofficial Productions

First of all, friend of the show, The Klingon Pop Warrior Returns with Fierce Warrior Songs. In addition, she is running a Kickstarter and would greatly appreciate your support. Furthermore, we spotted Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Enterprise D being built by Fans in VR.

We then moved onto book news, which dovetailed rather well with some of our guests’ news!

Book News

First of all, to reiterate what we talked about earlier, John Jackson Miller’s Star Trek: Prey: Book Two: The Jackal’s Trick is available.

And then Dayton Ward had a bunch of news of his own. Because he announced the cover for Headlong Flight. And it seems you can now write a college paper about From History’s Shadow. That news really interests Semantic Shenanigans. And finally, he announced that Purgatory’s Key is a real audiobook now.

Yet there’s more! First off, celebrate Halloween on the Bridge with these Trek Costumes.

And finally, it makes us so happy to announce that DefCon is Back and has updated the Upcoming Novel thread on the G & T Show forums. So please check out the news!

So our next stop was to report on television news.

Television News

First of all, the biggest news was that Bryan Fuller is out as the Star Trek: Discovery Showrunner. Because he is just too busy! And more information has arisen. It seems that the Star Trek: Discovery cast is supposed to include a Klingon Captain, a British Doctor, and more. However, while Discovery casting is almost complete, they still don’t have a lead.

And then we shifted to product news.

Product News

As always, we provide a monthly rundown on all product news. However, these three were new and deserving of special mention.

First of all, we added a link to the Roddenberry Vault unboxing video. The Roddenberry Vault has all sorts of new scenes and interviews, so be sure to check it out.

Then we moved onto two items from Think Geek. The first one was the Star Trek Tribble Tabletop Figure – Spock and tribbles – what’s not to love? And the other item was a set of Star Trek Steel Salt and Pepper Shaker Starships.

And then, finally, we got to general news.

General News

First of all was a news story about, well, maybe ET not phoning home, but phoning us instead! It seems strange messages coming from the stars are ‘probably’ from aliens, scientists say. At least, that’s according to the Independent.

And then in Star Trek and food news, we learned all about celebrating National Pumpkin Day, Trek-Style. And then Food and Wine celebrated the Trek Maze.

Then we commented on Patrick Stewart in the Logan trailer.

Furthermore, in corporate news, CBS and Viacom might remarry by Thanksgiving.

And finally, we tried to guess what a poll said was the scariest TOS Episode. And nobody guessed The Enemy Within!

Prizes and Winners These Hours

So the hours would not be complete without prizes and winners! Because we always give prizes to the biggest donor for any given hour and this one was no exception.

And our big winners these hours were Carlos Pedraza and Jen Usellis! Plus Sandra Watson was our grand prize winner! They won the following:

  • The Star Trek Book, Strange New Worlds Explained (courtesy of CBS Products) for Carlos
  • Star Trek Online Tholian Dreadnought Cruiser  T6 (Lock Box Ship) (courtesy of Star Trek Online) for Jen (she will give these away at her Extra Life Fundraiser)
  • Star Trek Online Zahl Heavy Cruiser T6 (Lobi Store Ship)  (courtesy of Star Trek Online) for Jen (she will give these away at her Extra Life Fundraiser)
