G & T Show STLV 2015 Coverage – Anthony Montgomery Interview
They had a wonderful conversation with Anthony but some of it wasn’t recorded. Oops!
They then dived into talking about Miles Away. Anthony himself describes the graphic novel as being about a sixteen-year-old boy with a shady past who is recruited by a shadowy organization in order to battle forces threatening Earth. It takes place in 2089.
Anthony is excited that Miles Away is moving from the static world of being a graphic novel and into animation! Anthony is looking to add a girl to the adventure with the boys as that will add a female demographic and will broaden the appeal.
Anthony proved to be a gracious and down to earth guy. He has someone behind the scenes from every iteration of Star Trek helping and supporting and doing voices! He feels they are family. He’s even got David Hasselhoff doing a voice!
Terry brought the subject through squirrels and then back to the story of Miles Away. But then there was a spirited discussion of Batman and Superman – who would win?
Anthony is doing a grassroots campaign to get Miles Away in front of kids, feeling that they will fall in love with his fun and compelling character. The idea is for the next generation to fall in love like we did with Superman and Spiderman and other super heroes. Anthony is looking to make an animated trilogy and eventually a series but he needs your help!
He is so happy and proud to be working with experts in the field, including Brandon Easton, his exceptional co-writer who is also writing for the second season of Agent Carter! Anthony has taken a UCLA class in writing and recommends that people do so as it makes all the difference. He learned how to write a script, etc. – Brandon provided the skeleton, Anthony did the rewrite, and Anthony has had his hand in every stage of the process.
Anthony is giving away free stuff; he’s got a great community and hopes you will spread the word. If you buy it on iTunes, please rate and review it there; on Amazon, etc. That way, he gets a notification and then he will spread the word. He needs four million sales and the animated movie will be a reality!
Nick asked why and when Anthony decided to write. He mainly just decided to write his story, the story that appealed the most to him. He wanted to be a part of things he knew would be better, that there could be a positivity out there and he wanted to promote that.
Anthony then thanked everyone and added a message to all the fans, “I’ll see you in the future!”
