G & T Show STLV 2015 Coverage – Grant Imahara Interview

G & T Show STLV 2015 Coverage – Grant Imahara Interview At STLV 2015, Terry Lynn and Nick had a great time interviewing Grant Imahara, of Mythbusters and Star Trek Continues!

Grant jumped right in – he plays Sulu. Episode Four is out!

He had met Vic Mignogna at DragonCon several years ago, and they met again as the cast was coming together. When Grant arrived, it was a kind of Nerdvana. The first bit recorded was called ‘Night Shift’ and was just intended to be a short vignette with Sulu, Uhura, and Chekov. He confesses he may have blown a few takes because he could not stop grinning.

He intimates that everyone has a lot of fun, and you can really see that when you look at the outtakes. Grant considers himself to be a hard-core Trekkie. During the interview, he was wearing an authentic Wrath of Khan era costume.

He reminisced watching reruns of the Original Series and how impressed he was that Sulu was the hero and the good guy and flew and helped the ship. He likes Mirror, Mirror. For TNG, he likes Darmok and Inner Light. His favorite series is TNG.

He revealed that he has met George Takei and has tweeted with him. George has been gracious and supportive throughout. However, in a fight between him and John Cho? He did note that Cho works out a lot.

Nick asked about Larry Nemecek’s involvement with Star Trek: Continues. Larry’s been great,  and Vic is also an expert. Between the two of them they know pretty much everything there is to know.

Grant also talked about Michelle Specht and the Mirror Universe episode. She’s a force of nature!
