G & T Show STLV 2015 Coverage – Thomas Marrone Interview

G & T Show STLV 2015 Coverage – Thomas Marrone InterviewAt the 2015 Star Trek Las Vegas convention, Terry Lynn and Nick had a lot of fun interviewing Thomas Marrone of Star Trek Online (STO), also known as Thomas the Cryptic Cat.

They jumped right into talking all about the new ships, including the Elita class. You can load up other torpedoes and goodies. Each faction got its own version of these Tier Six ships. It uses a lot of the same skins, parts, etc. as the other Akira-variant ships. The idea is to provide more value for the players in the game.

There are some ships that are getting a second pass in order to add details in order to bolster can accuracy and of course make the ships a lot more fun to use.

They chased a squirrel about factions coming together and cooperating and setting aside their differences for the sake of Star Trek storytelling. He is very excited about this new direction.

Nick noted that Thomas goes home and thinks about improving STO pretty much all the time. His dedication is obvious; he wants to do right by the players. The same is true about all of the developers, people like Xeronius Rex. They put in a ton of extra hours in what is a rather difficult and complicated system. They clearly love what they do, and it shows in the product.

Season 11 is coming soon! The end of the Iconian War is coming soon. One of Thomas’s dreams is to create a Xindi Aquatic ship.

We thank him, as always. We’re excited about A New Dawn, coming this fall.
