Star Trek Product News Roundup April 2017

Product News April 2017

During April 2017, we covered a ton of Star Trek and geek-related products. However, we might have elided over them a little too quickly, or maybe you didn’t get a chance to see the pictures?

The G & T Show - Product News April 2017

The G & T Show – it’s all about story, characters, and Star Trek

Yet you need not worry. Because we have got you covered.

So the range of products is truly dizzying. And these are just a handful!

April 2017 Apparel

First of all, a ton of new apparel hit our radar. Because ThinkGeek wants to outfit YOU! So these ten separate tee shirt designs all come in sizes Small to XXL. Also, with but one exception, they all retail for $24.95.

First up we have this 10 Forward tee. And check out Locutus! Both tees only come in black.

So do you like Gowron? Or how about fully-functional Data (hubba-hubba)? Once again, these only come in black.

In addition, what if you can’t get enough of Picard’s epic facepalm? Maybe the Borg construct is more your speed? Also only available in black.

Also, would you prefer to swear allegiance to the Terran Empire? Or pay tribute to the Riker Maneuver? So, both come in charcoal only but I wonder if the Riker one served as a ThinkGeek April Fools’ Day joke? Maybe …?

So how about the Borg Queen (comes in black only)? Or would you like to see the galaxy with Starfleet (comes in navy only)?

In addition, the last of the new tees from ThinkGeek has a lot more details as it pays tribute to Q. Comes in red and black only and it retails for $29.95. Note: this one is polyester so consider that in terms of wash and care.

Finally, StarTrek.com offers this Red Squadron tee shirt for $24.95, in sizes S – XXL. Note: slim fit; the site recommends sizing up.

April 2017

Ooh la la, summer’s coming and you’ll need a swimsuit, right? ThinkGeek offers these lovely treats for the lady in your life (or an adventurous guy – hey, I don’t judge).

April 2017

First of all are the bikinis, done up in TOS colors (red is also available) and in a more retro style with a more modest (navel-covering) skirt bottom. Personally, I love the fact that these come in sizes S to 4X (dress sizes 4/6 to 22) because dammit, Jim! Everyone should wear a bikini if they want to! Retailing from $29.99 to $59.98 (depending on size), the tops and bottoms are sold separately for a more custom fit.

So is a one-piece more your style? Or do you want to really swim for speed, rather than lounge? ThinkGeek comes to your rescue with one-piece bathing suits in TNG colors.

April 2017

Again, these suits come in sizes S to 4X and retail for $59.99, regardless of size! Also, these seem to be a bit more supportive in the bust area if that’s an issue.

This story was reported by Trek News.net, i09, and the Mary Sue.

April 2017 Jewelry

Since a good pin can make any outfit, how about a 30th anniversary TNG lapel pin? Retailing for $7.00, it has a butterfly enclosure with post, which means you have two pieces, and you stick the pin through your garment and then secure it with the post behind it.

In addition, StarTrek.com reports that FanSets now sells Mirror Universe TNG pins! So, why does someone always have a facial scar? Characters will retail for $5.95 apiece, whereas insignia will cost $7.95, and ship pins will retail for $9.95. Stay tuned for the deets!

Models, Action Figures, Collectibles, and Figurines

So, check out how WizKids has expanded their offerings! TrekToday reports on the expansion of the Attack Wing line (no prices yet; available later in 2017). StarTrek.com also covers the story. Also, for more information, go straight to WizKids.

April 2017

Also, do you want to make it so? Then get a hold of Quantum Mechanix’s Jean-Luc Picard action figure. Retailing for $179.95, it comes with a tricorder, a teacup, and more.

April 2017 Artwork

Furthermore, Bye Bye Robot released four new Star Trek prints. Retailing for $25 apiece, these beauties will liven up any décor. Size: 18″ x 24″ except as specified.

From the Heart captures Vic Fontaine beautifully. Also, The Doomsday Machine (16″ x 24″) pays homage to the TOS episode of the same name.

In addition, Blue Enterprise looks more like fine art than a poster. Finally, Enterprise x3 (18″ x 23″) shows three separate versions of the old gal, but I do have to say, it reminds me of the only even remotely good part of These Are the Voyages – the end.

April 2017 Books

So the Star Trek Cats now have their own book! ThinkGeek retails this masterpiece of storytelling for $14.99 because felines need to explore space, too.

April 2017

April 2017 Housewares and Practical-Ish Stuff

Also, ThinkGeek has a new TNG bottle opener retailing for $9.99.

April 2017

Want to get into 3D printing? Well, you can do with the 3Doodler Start Essentials Pen Set – it won Rookie of the Year in the 2017 Toy Awards. It retails for $49.99 and it even printed this funky dress!

April 2017

So you can light your way to the nearest starbase with this new Enterprise lamp from ThinkGeek. Retailing for $59.99, your decorating can boldly go where no room has gone before. Also reported by Trek Today.

April 2017 Gaming

Or do you prefer gaming? Then check out the I.R.W. Valdore (Repaint) from WizKids/NECA’s Star Trek: Attack Wing Wave 30. Releasing in May, head on over to WizKids for more information.

April 2017

And how about Star Trek: Ascendancy? The Borg are about to invade! So head on over to Gale Force 9 for more information, including release dates and pricing.

April 2017

April 2017 Grab Bag

And finally, do you like numismatics? I mean coin collecting! The Bradford Exchange presents a beautiful 50th anniversary legacy proof coin collection for $39.99 per issue. So check out the first issue!

Upshot

Finally, every month (and not just April 2017), we aim to bring you the most exciting, innovative, and practical or just plain mind-boggling Star Trek-related products out there. And we thank you for reading!
