Product News July 2017
During July 2017, we covered a ton of Star Trek and geek-related products. However, we might have elided over them a little too quickly, or maybe you didn’t get a chance to see the pictures?
Yet you need not worry. Because we have got you covered.
So the range of products is truly dizzying. And these are just a handful!
July 2017 Apparel
First of all, we saw a bunch of new products from ThinkGeek and StarTrek.com. So check out this exclusive Star Trek TNG Unisex Track Jacket. Retailing for $59.99, this comes in
- gold (Lieutenant Commander rank, sizes XS and S only)
- blue (Commander rank, sizes S and M – no, I don’t mean other stuff. Get your mind out of the gutter), or
- red (Captain’s rank, sizes XS, S, and M).
Machine wash cold; comes with two side pockets. Check their size chart to assure the best fit.
|Chest||41 3/4 in.||44 in.||47 1/4 in.|
|Body Length||25 1/4 in.||26 in.||27 1/2 in.|
|Sleeve Length||31 1/2 in.||32 1/4 in.||33 3/4 in.|
Star Trek Discovery
Then we noticed some products commemorating Star Trek Discovery. First of all was a women’s slim-fit T-shirt in the CBS Store. It comes in heather gray, sizes S – XXL and costs $24.95. Because it is a slim fit, they recommend ordering one or two sizes up. Men’s version costs $24.95 and comes in sizes S – XXL. So that is the product on the left. Read on for information on the product on the right.
We also saw the Discovery pullover hoodie. Pictured above, on the right, the hoodie comes in navy, sizes S – XXL. Retails for $49.95 from the CBS Store.
The CBS Store was also offering the Star Trek Discovery At The Edge of the Universe T-Shirt (left) for $29.95 (sizes S-XXL, comes in black, cardinal, or heavy metal) and the Star Trek Discovery Discovery Begins T-Shirt (right) for $26.95 (sizes S – XXL) (available for the same price on Star Trek.com).
In addition, we spotted the Discovery Delta Shield T-shirt, also from the CBS Store. It also comes in heather gray, sizes S – XXL and costs $24.95. So that is the product on the left. Read on for information on the product on the right.
Plus we liked the Star Trek Starfleet Academy Phoenix Delta Hoodie. StarTrek.com sells this one (pictured on the right, above). It also comes in charcoal gray, sizes S – XXL and costs $49.95.
Star Trek The Next Generation
However, if TNG is more your speed, we also saw these two Star Trek The Next Generation products from StarTrek.com.
First up is the Command Polo. It comes in black, sizes S – XXL and costs $49.95. In addition, that is the product on the left. So please read on for information on the product on the right.
Plus there’s the Command Jacket. It’s on the right, above, and comes in red and gray fleece, sizes S – XXL and costs $79.95.
And over at Anovos, there’s the Star Trek ™ : The Next Generation Shore Leave Collection Uniform Shirt (you have to reserve this; it’s not out yet). Retails for $50.00 and comes in sizes S – 2XL and in red, gold, and teal. They also offer a Star Trek: First Contact / Deep Space 9 Premier Line Command Uniform Jacket (Pre-Order), for $599.95 (that’s not a typo, folks). Anovos sizes differ from ThinkGeek. Hence I’ve added their size chart, just below.
Mirror Universe Apparel
So we saw a ton of these. I’ll try to be brief!
Mirror Universe (General)
Hence we start off with the Star Trek Mirror Universe Logo Zip Hoodie (on the left). Retails for $49.95, sizes S-XXL, black only. So read below for the tee on the right.
We liked the Star Trek Mirror Universe Enterprise T-Shirt. Retailing for $34.95, it comes in sizes S-XXL, black only (shown to the right, above).
Also from StarTrek.com, we liked the Star Trek Mirror Universe Tyranny Enterprise T-Shirt. Shown at the left, below (with the women’s slim fit version to the right), it’s $24.95, sizes S-XXL, in heavy metal gray. The women’s version (right, below) retails for $24.95 with the same color and sizing, but the slim fit means you should size up.
So we next saw MU tees in delta versions. As before, men’s is on the left; women’s slim fit is on the right. The Star Trek Mirror Universe Tyranny Delta T-Shirt retails for $24.95, sizes S – XXL. Women’s comes in dark grey; mens is in heavy metal (I can scarcely tell the difference).
In addition, we liked the Star Trek Mirror Universe Darkside T-Shirt. Again, men’s on the left; women’s on the right. Also, both come in white, retailing for $24.95, sizes S – XXL. As before, women’s is slim fit.
Finally, we also liked the Star Trek Mirror Universe Terran Logo T-Shirt. Men’s on the left; women’s on the right. Both retail for $24.95 and come in sizes S – XXL, in black (yet again, the women’s version is a slim fit).
MU Picard Apparel
So as before, men’s is on the left and women’s is on the right, for the Star Trek Mirror Universe Picard T-Shirt. In addition, both are heather gray, retailing for $24.95 in sizes S – XXL, with a slim fit for women.
MU Commander Riker Apparel
So for this one, I only have a men’s version of the Star Trek Mirror Universe Riker T-Shirt. And it’s $24.95, heather gray, sizes S – XXL.
MU Commander Data Apparel
Furthermore, everyone’s favorite android becomes menacing in the Star Trek Mirror Universe Data T-Shirt. Men’s on the left, women’s slim fit on the right. Both retail for $24.95, sizes S – XXL, heather gray.
MU Beverly Crusher, MD Apparel
In addition, you don’t want to see what’s in her chamber of horrors. The Star Trek Mirror Universe Beverly T-Shirt (men’s on the left, women’s slim fit on the right) retails for $24.95 and comes in heather gray, sizes S – XXL.
MU Klingon Apparel
Finally, you know they’re even tougher in the mirror. The Star Trek Mirror Universe Tyranny Klingon T-Shirt comes in a men’s (left) and a women’s slim fit version. Both are $24.95, sizes S – XXL. Plus the women’s comes in dark grey; mens is in heavy metal (I can barely tell the difference).
And we can’t forget Her Universe! First of all, the company launched new Star Wars, Marvel and Star Trek Fashions at SDCC.
So when it came to Star Trek apparel, Her Universe offers the Star Trek Ships tank top, retailing for $24.56, on the left, and the Star Trek Riley Ringer T-shirt, retailing for $21.16, on the right. Both come in sizes XS – 3X.
July 2017 Books, Calendars, and Posters
Furthermore, have you seen what’s in print? First of all, there’s the new TNG 30th anniversary poster set. Retailing for $99.99, Roddenberry.com offers a three-piece set. Each poster is 40″ x 27″ and is a limited edition. In addition, it comes with a 28″ x 13″ signed key.

Plus the 2018 Ships of the Line Calendar is already available now, from StarTrek.com. Retailing for $14.99, you can buy it at Amazon, which currently has it for $10.79.
And on Etsy, we found the Star Trek Schematic LCARS USS Enterprise 1701-D Large Print. Prices differ, depending upon size! Also, if you click through that link, you’ll find some other Star Trek-related offerings.
- 80 x 30 cm (31.5″ x 11.81″) – $81.90

- 200 x 75 cm (78.74″ x 29.53″) – $153.12
In addition, we spotted some great notebooks (yes, you have to already be thinking about back to school – sorry!). All retailing for $14.95, you can have one for three of your toughest school subjects, or just for journaling.
Finally, the Star Trek School Folder Notebook shows off famous jocks and fight scenes. And yesssssssss, there’s a Gorn!
Also, we spotted these great journals from Entertainment Earth.
First up is the Star Trek: The Next Generation Padd Faux Leather Journal. And we also saw the Star Trek The Original Series Captain’s Log Hardcover Journal. They both retail for $11.99 and are coming in August.
July 2017 Housewares and Other Semi-Practical Stuff
However, if you need a Discovery fix and a jolt of caffeine as well, the CBS Store has two 11 ounce mugs for sale for $14.95. In addition, both come in black ceramic, so they might be heavy. Plus I am not certain if they are microwave-safe.
The Discovery logo mug is on the right. Please read on for information about the mug on the left.
In addition, the Discovery Delta Shield Mug is on the left, above. The main difference is that it is only the delta shield and does not also have the verbiage.
So don’t you just love these Star Trek: The Original Series Geeki Tikis? ThinkGeek has them for $79.99 for all six! Or grab a Star Trek Mr. Spock Business Card Holder from Icon Heroes, retailing for $34.99 (currently sold out; check your local hobby or comic book store).
Plus, who doesn’t need a keychain? We spotted the Quantum Mechanix Star Trek USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D Key Chain, sold by Kohl’s. Retailing for $14.99, it’s cast in solid zinc alloy. Personally, I manhandle keychains, so you might not want to use this one for its intended purpose, given all the detail work.
First of all, I have to say, having a tote bag at a convention really saved my hide. So here are two where you can show off your love for the Mirror Universe! Both come from StarTrek.com and retail for $29.95; they measure 13″ x 13″. The Star Trek Mirror Universe Darkside Tote is on the left, and the Star Trek Mirror Universe Logo Tote is on the right.
So you know when you’re time traveling, right? Wouldn’t it be helpful to have a clock? Not to worry! First up is the Star Trek vinyl record wall clock from Novelty Fire. Originally retailing for $99.95, it’s now on sale for $29.95! And check out their other clocks as this isn’t the only one. Plus Entertainment Earth gets into the timestream with this Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 Wall Clock, retailing for $25.99.
So head outside and add some Star Trek-inspired signage. Entertainment Earth offers two choices. First we have the Star Trek Starship Parking Tin Sign. and the Star Trek Kirk vs. Gorn Tin Sign. Both retail for $5.99.
July 2017 Models, Action Figures, Collectibles, and Figurines
Furthermore, Star Trek.com reports there are such things as Keenser Collectibles. These include a Keenser waffle from Eggo (no lie! Read the article) and an origins story from IDW Comics.
Or you might like the Star Trek Starships Figure Collection Magazine Special #15 USS Titan from Midtown Comics. Coming soon, and retailing for $22.95, Midtown Comics currently offers a 10% discount on the NCC-80102.
And check out the Vidiian Warship Model from Eaglemoss. It retails for £10.99, which these days is about $14.28, on the left. Plus on the right is Eaglemoss’s U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656 Model Ship, which also retails for £10.99.
Yet Eaglemoss did not stop there. So check out this U.S.S. Vengeance Starship model, retailing for £20.99 (about $27.28), on the left. And on the right is the Saber-class USS Yeager NCC-61947 Starship Model, retailing for £10.99 (about $14.28).
Also, Eaglemoss offers the Steamrunner-Class Starship Model, retailing for £10.99 (about $14.28).
Finally, Starship Collection’s Enterprise NCC-1701-E Takes Flight (right), according to Star Trek.com.
July 2017 Music, Blu-Rays, and DVDs
Since we know you love music, give a listen to the Star Trek The Motion Picture: Limited Edition (2XLP) — LP 2003. Because for $34.98, La La Land Records has put together a great collection.
July 2017 Games, Electronics and Computer Accessories
Plus, we checked out the Star Trek Ascendancy Play Mat Game from NewEgg. Retailing for $35.99 (plus $12.95 shipping), this galactic map was made by Gale Force 9.
In addition, Think Geek offers this College Game Night Pack for $84.99. Comes with Exploding Kittens, a DrunkQuest Tin, a Zelda 8 Bit Shot Glass, and four TNG Insignia Pint Glasses. Please enjoy responsibly!
July 2017 Jewelry
So do you like wearing a pin in your lapel? Then ThinkGeek has just the thing, with this Star Trek: TNG 30th Anniversary Mirror Broken Pin, retailing for $14.99 but free with orders of $50 in Star Trek merch or more (while supplies last, of course)! Just add TERRAN as your code during checkout. Plus Trek Core reports that QMX is rolling out Star Trek: Discovery Insignia Badges for $14.95 apiece, first available at San Diego Comic Con.
In addition, every sharp-dressed man needs a kick-bun set of cufflinks, don’t you think? These are the Franklin mint Star Trek Cufflinks, in various designs, retailing for $60 per pair. I’m rather partial to these:
And who doesn’t love a great timepiece? TrekNews and TrekToday both report that you can Wear A Star Trek Communicator On Your Wrist With The New Comms Watch. Available for preorder at Planet Replicas. No price yet, but this is a limited edition of only 500.
July 2017 Grab Bag
And finally, if you’re into sewing, you might want to swing on over to Fabric Mill for some Star Trek fabric. Featuring TOS characters Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Uhura, Scotty, Sulu, and Chekov, this unique pattern repeats on the fabric. Hence it’s not really for cosplaying. Instead, you might want it for a kid’s room or a rec room or maybe an accent pillow. Costs $12.99 per yard and you can score a sample for $1. However, keep in mind, it doesn’t have a fire rating and it’s not soil-resistant. If the sample is large enough, you might even want to order a sample of this 100% cotton fabric, frame it, and call it a day.
And we also spotted 44″ cotton fabric with a ships design from JoAnn fabrics. Normally retailing for $11.99 per yard, it’s on sale for $8.99 per yard. Composed of cotton, care instructions are: Machine Wash Cool Delicate, Non-Chlorine Bleach, Tumble Dry Low, Warm Iron.
Plus we spotted this Spock beach towel from Amazon. Retails for $19.93, and click through to see other colors. However, note the customer reviews, which mainly said the towel was of a fairly thin cotton material and didn’t always have the vibrant blue as pictured. Wash before first use. Eligible for free shipping if you have an order of $25.00 or more.
